  • Five Points is created by the intersections from 2 directions of South Milledge Avenue and South Lumpkin Street and Milledge Circle from another direction.  It's located just Southwest of the University of Georgia campus.  In fact, the campus begins only 1/2 mile away where you will find the Spec Towns Track and the UGA Athletic Complex.  The UGA Arch downtown, just off of Broad Street, is only 1.5 miles away, and almost everything in-between is campus.

Characteristics

  • Five Points is a generally upscale area with a collection of many different styles of homes, some of which go back to the early days of Athens which was incorporated in 1806.  Convenience is the keyword here.  Campus can be reached by walking depending on your level of fitness, but a bicycle is probably a better choice.  Getting around by motorcycle or moped should be pretty easy, and of course, a car can get you too your destination quickly, but parking for automobiles might be limited directly in Five Points if it is a particularly busy day (as in a Saturday game day for the Georgia Bulldogs!).

Attractions

  • Here you will find a variety of restaurants and shops.  Cali N Titos, The Pine, Five and Ten, J Cristopher's, Grindhouse Killer Burgers, Barberito's and The Waffle House are all within easy walking distance of each other.  And maybe the best pour of Guiness on tap can be found at the Royal Peasant, a very good rendition of an English pub (great food also...not just "bar food").  Also close by are the Five Points Bottle Shop, Earth Fare food store and Hodgson's Pharmacy (stop in for a couple of scoops of ice cream on a warm summer day).
